Organization: NICE (Never-ending International workCamps Exchange)
Details: The rural area in Japan has big problems such as lack of youth, increase of abandoned fields. They started 80-days of international workcamp with NICE since 2008 to make the footpath and maintain the forest. Their aim is to activate the community and sustain the program with young people from the world to conserve this rich nature. We will 1) make a footpath in the forest (main work), 2) maintain the forest and helping agricultural work with local farmers, 3) Help to run 2-7-days of workcamps. They would like to develop these programs longer and deeper, so that they can work with the community better.
Background: Organized together with Sansonjuku, founded in 1994, maintaining forest and step rice paddies through the projects which involve people from the city and local.
