Organization: Triam Suksa School Foundation, Thailand
Introduction: The Triam School Foundation working with Triamsuksa School Soi Dao Chanthaburi Thailand. It is paramount that a student with special needs is not marginalized and is taught in an inclusion classroom. Inclusive education is now accepted worldwide as the best educational practice for children with special needs, yet it is not widely known or practiced in Thailand. Many people still believe that children with special educational needs should be educated in a special setting. There are a very few examples of schools which are developing their own inclusive practices and initiatives and Trianm School is one of them.
The school has around 1000 kids, and out of these around 400 children need that extra help, some come from disadvantaged backgrounds and some have special learning needs which range in severity. The school may offer free education and food for the kids and for those that can’t afford it – free transport to school too.
