Organization: Volunteer Action for Peace (VAP) / Sinoteach
Detail: Sinoteach is an intercultural and educational exchange consortium based in Yantai City and that encourages cultural awareness and understanding through cultural immersion, language study and volunteering experience. We focus on placement of international volunteers who are native speakers of English to teach conversational English at our affiliate schools in need in local communities in Yantai City, China. Our Teaching and Volunteering Programme is designed to promote volunteerism and improve the quality of English education by international volunteers’ efforts and endeavours in China.
Background: The mission of our Teaching and Volunteering Programme is structured and designed to enhance the intercultural exchange and understanding between China and the rest of the world and bring volunteers from the West to gain an insight into modern Chinese culture and society in its full perspective and to provide equal education opportunities for all children in local communities in need through English language teaching and cultural immersion and volunteering as well.
