Name of Organisation: New Sight Eye Care

Introduction:

New Sight Eye Care is a charity working in the Republic of Congo to give priceless gift of sight. For every 5 blind persons, 4 have a preventable/treatable condition and half could regain their sight with a simple cataract operation. New Sight team has a passion to help these people see again. When sight is restored, lives are transformed – not just for the patients, but also their families and even the whole community. Through rehabilitation, New Sight seeks to empower the blind to live as independently as possible, provide eye education to the community and act as advocates for the blind in society. Their first and only eye surgical centre in the North of the Republic of the Congo which on full service since 2013 has been performing over 1,500 consultations annually, and creating greater access to treatment by delivering a free screening service for villages in the Likouala region.

New Sight is a registered Charitable Company in HK and UK and also the winner of the international eXcellence in Ophthalmology Vision Award (XOVA) 2012.
