Organisation: Home Street Home
Details:
Since the magnitude 7.8 earthquake hit Nepal in 2015, Chuen Man, a Australia and Hong Kong based animal lover as well as founder of Wild Connections has been deeply connected with the local community street dogs, especially those in the post-quake camp in Chuchepati. At first, he rescued and treated those in need as an individual effort. In January 2017, he co-operated with the local organisation NAWRC for a five-day “Catch-Neuter-Return” program with a result of 51 homeless street dogs sterilised. In total of the project under Wild Connections, 66 community dogs were desexed and returned to their habitats. Since then, the Home Street Home project has been launched to support local organizations in implementing the “Catch-Neuter-Return” program to achieve humane dog population management.
Travelling between Australia and Hong Kong, Chuen Man is working hard on their first trip for the Nepal Community Dog projects to be held in April 2018. They are now recruiting volunteers to join him to make this significant step.
