Abstract:
Liza Wang, is an accomplished diva, actress and emcee in Hong Kong. She is a well-known across the Chinese-speaking communities. Wang was formerly a delegate in the National People’s Congress from 1988 to 1997. Wang was Chairman of the Chinese Artist Association of Hong Kong. She is currently a member of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference and Honorary Chairperson of Hong Kong Televisioners Association.
As a mainstay at the television network, Wang has gained almost legendary status for her efforts not merely as an entertainer but also as a philanthropist with a heart for social works and for improving lives in rural China and other areas. Wang, being a two time cancer survivor (first thyroid then breast cancer), she decided to be an executive committee member of the Hong Kong Anti-Cancer Society. She has helped raised charities, awareness and funding for cancer patients. She also supports many other charities, including The Outstanding Young Persons’ Association, Zonta Club of the New Territories, Hong Kong Arts Development Council, World Vision, Po Leung Kuk, etc. Wang is also the Founder and Chairman of Y. C. Ho Home for the Elderly and Ho Ying Chie Foundation Ltd.
