Abstract:
Dr the Honourable Leong Che-hung, GBM, GBS, JP, a registered Medical Doctor, non-official Member of the Executive Council, Chairman of the Elderly Commission, Chairman of ICAC Complaints Committee, Member of Family Council and Member of Honours Committee.
Dr Leong has been actively participating in public services. He was member of Legislative Council, Chairman of House Committee, Legislative Council, Founding Chairman of Hong Kong Society of Nephrology, Council Member of Family Planning Association of Hong Kong, Founding President of College of Surgeons of Hong Kong, member of Association for Celebration of Reunification of Hong Kong with China, Chairman of Hong Kong Anti-Cancer Society, Vice-Chairman of Asia Pacific Hospice Palliative Care Network, etc.
Dr Leong is currently the Chairman/ President of several non-profit organizations, such as Advisory Committee on Nursing, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Hospital Authority, Hong Kong Academy of Medicine, Council on Human Reproductive Technology ,Hong Kong AIDS Foundation , Hong Kong Kidney Foundation, Chairman, International Drug Abuse Treatment Foundation , Honourary Vice President of Chinese Association of STD/AIDS Prevention and Control, The People’s Republic of China , Co-Chairman of Mainland-Hong Kong Committee on AIDS, Vice-Chairman of China AIDS Network, Council Member of Wu Jieping Urological Foundation, The People’s Republic of China and Cheng Si Yuan (China – International) Hepatitis Research Foundation, as well as the member of G B Ong Travelling Fellowship Committee.
