Abstract:
Jackie Chan, SBS, MBE is an internationally renowned Hong Kong actor, action choreographer and filmmaker. Chan has been acting since the 1960s and has appeared in over 100 films.
Chan was awarded as one of the Hong Kong’s Ten Outstanding Young Persons in 1986 and The Outstanding Young Persons of the World in 1986. Chan has established his own charitable fund Jackie Chan Charitable Foundation, Dragon’s Heart Foundation and Jackie Chan Charitable Foundation Beijing in 1988, 2005 and 2008 correspondingly. The foundations aim to offer help through services and donations to as many people in need as possible, the elderly, the sick, the poor, the young, and the disabled, and also victims in natural disasters. They offer scholarships and active help to Hong Kong’s young people through a variety of worthy causes, and also to support other projects including the rehabilitation Research Base of Giant Panda, adopting two giant panda, AIDS prevention project, etc.
