Detail: Through the new work camps; the Participants acquire new skills, experience, get new ideas and are exposed to development issues especially through the exchange of good practices. The Community benefits through participation, education, sensitisation, new constructions and poverty reduction.
The projects are hosted by the UPA branches and partner projects or community groups across the country. The themes of the work camps vary from, Environment conservation and Sanitation, Sustainable Development, construction, kids, agriculture, sports, cultural heritage and HIV/AIDS.
Background: Work camps have been used as means for building local communities. Volunteers from all over the world come together and through common efforts to build community centres, health units, small scale farming plots and much more has been constructed. Friendship cross borders has been created and barriers between people from different cultures broken down.
