The Hong Kong ICT (HKICT) Awards aims at recognising and promoting outstanding information and communications technology (ICT) inventions and applications, thereby encouraging innovation and excellence among Hong Kong’s ICT talents and enterprises in their constant pursuit of creative and better solutions to meet business and social needs.
Established in 2006 with the collaborative efforts of the industry, academia and the Government, the Awards aims at building a locally espoused and internationally acclaimed brand of ICT awards. There are eight categories under the Hong Kong ICT Awards 2019. There will be one Grand Award in each category, and an “Award of the Year” will be selected from the eight Grand Awards by the Grand Judging Panel.
Among the eight Awards, Smart People Award is established to recognise innovative development of ICT products / solutions or ICT-enabled services. They are now inviting interested organisations with relevant projects/ programmes to participate in the Award under 3 categories:
1. Smart Inclusion: To promote the rights of the disadvantaged groups to participate and contribute to the development of information society
2. Smart Ageing: To recognise the ICT innovations that address the challenges facing the ageing society
3. Citizens Data Applications: To promote the open data / big data applications that contribute to improving the quality of life of people
