Organization: Heifer International – Hong Kong
Detail:
Read to Feed encourages children aged 3-14 to read while collecting sponsorship from parents, friends and relatives based on the number of books read, units of time read or a single donation. Funds collected will be pooled to help the impoverished families in rural China become self-reliant through gifts of livestock and training. Ultimately, the program will foster in children a love of reading, a passion to help others and a desire to create a better world!
Donations this year will be designated to the “Small Holder Farmer Livelihood Sustainable Development Project of Kalaqin County”, which aims to assist 3,000 impoverished families in Xiaoniuqun Township of Kalaqin County in Inner Mongolia to improve their livelihoods sustainably in 5 years.
Program Period: Any 4-6 weeks between 2015 July – 2016 June
