Details: The “Oct 17 Fast-a-Meal Movement” has been launched in Hong Kong since 2014, aiming at arousing the interest of general public to the United Nation’s International Day for the Eradication of Poverty dated Oct 17 and the HKCNP “10.10.10. Anti-Poverty Campaign” in Oct. Objectives include:-
– Encourage public response to the United Nation International Day for the Eradication of Poverty on 17 October and HKCNP 101010 Anti-Poverty Campaign. Participants were invited to work together to overcome extreme poverty and take practical action to address the problem of deprivation.
-Enhance students artistic creativity through the competition, to pay attention to poverty in Hong Kong and to voice the poor.
– Provide seminars and activities to help students understand the current situation of poverty alleviation in Hong Kong and how they can help grassroots people. (First-served basis)
– Raise funds for the Child Development Fund Mentorship Program to support grass-root children. The program helps to provide youngsters with upward mobility opportunities and eradicate the problem of intergenerational poverty. Winning works will be raised through charity sale, blessing more grass-root children, get a double sense of life experience
