As organised by The Hong Kong Award for Young People (AYP) back in 2007, Rogaine competition has been recorded with over 9300 accumulated participants in the last decade. Rogaine is an all-rounded orienteering challenge which requires teamwork of 2-4 people and has become the annual fundraising event of AYP. The 6-hour and 24-hour race would be organised in every alternate year as well.
Rogaining is the sport of long distance cross-country navigation as formed by a team of 2 to 4 members visiting check points within a set time limit. All teams would travel entirely on foot, navigating by compass and official map between checkpoints in terrain that varies from open farmland to hilly forest. Those teams are required to use their E-cards to punch the control unit at check points to keep records.
Supported by Go.Asia this year, Rogaine AYP hopes the public could know more about the Award Scheme through Rogaine and also raise fund to provide learning opportunities for young people in Hong Kong. They are now calling for interested parties for registration till Dec 12, 2018.
