The Hong Kong Council of Social Service (HKCSS) is organizing a “Future Camp” in May and June, aiming at tackling issues relate to Healthcare, Eating, Living and Transport of Elderly in order to facilitate their independent living, by developing innovative technology ideas / solutions / products / services.

o Two components: 1-day of Future Camp Day and Half day Pre-Camp Outreach

o Aims at tackling issues relate to Healthcare, Eating, Living and Transport (醫、食、住、行) of elderly in order to facilitate their independent living
o Technology not limited to new scientific invention, but also information technology, craftsmanship, management etc.
There are two streams:
Day 1: Ageing in Community in relation to Healthcare and Transport
Day 2: Ageing at Home in relation to Eating and Living
Ultimate goal to make the actionable proposals against the featured issue
PRE-CAMP OUTREACH
o Provide ground information for participants to understand the issue, learn the current practices and challenges face by the elderly over the 4 areas
o Participants are expected to collect data and consolidate clues about elderly need
o 8 pre-camp outreach will be arranged 1-2 weeks prior to Deliberation day
o 2 outreach on Healthcare (HK Sheng Kung Hui Welfare Council Limited and Christian Family Service Centre)
o 2 outreach on Eating (St. James and Christian Family Service Centre)
o 2 outreach on Living (Caritas and Salvation Army)
o 2 outreach on Transport (Haven of Hope Christine Service and Aberdeen Kai-fong Welfare Association Social Service)
TARGET PARTICIPANT
1. Professionals: architecture, engineering, information technology, primary health care, uban planning, designer, artist, etc
2. Social Welfare: frontline social worker relate to elderly service, social enterprise operator
3. Business: managerial, account and finance, business development, etc
4. General Public
FLOW OF INNOVATION CAMP DAY
– Learn from the landscape research on the use of Technology of Elderly in HK (20min)
– Warm-up activity to unlash sense of empathy (30min)
– Discussion Session 1 – 2(2hr)
(Equip with Maker Bench for prototyping and product mock up)
– Idea Presentation/ Pitching (1hr)
– Mock Social Investment (Pre-Pro Social Impact Assessment) (30min)
