Detail: CYDF plans to organize “Challenging 8 Hours” charity walkathon in Longqing Ravine and Yudushan scenic spot, Yanqing County, Beijing on Sep. 8th, 2012. This competition means to encourage the public to donate fund to help the implementation of Project Hope Happy Reading in rural schools in Haiyuan County in Ningxia Province, Baoshanlongyang District in Yunnan Province and Yanqing County in Beijing through challenging walking activities. CYDF is committed to make this event the most influential orienteering competition for charity in China, which is held annually together with related organizations.
Background: China Youth Development Foundation (CYDF) is a public foundation which has established Project Hope in 1989. During its 23 years of development, Project Hope has raised 7.85 billion RMB indonation to support educationin rural area.Under its support, 4.2 million impoverished students have gained theopportunities to go to school, and 17,574 rural schools have been rebuilt into Hope Schools. At the same time, it has become the most extensively participated charity program in China.
