Abstract:
Alan Tam, is an award-winning Hong Kong cantopop singer and actor, popular in Asia. He formed a band called The Wynners with his friends. The Wynners performed mostly in English language and Tam was one of the two lead singers in the band until it split in 1978. During the early 1980s he played a major role in developing the cantopop scene as he was known for singing romantic ballads with modern arrangements.

Today he is regularly seen across the media in Hong Kong, mainland China, Taiwan, and various parts of East Asia participating in all types of entertainment related events and charity activities. He has been supporting numerous charities including Hong Kong Red Cross, The Community Chest, LLCS, etc. and leading the Hong Kong All Star Soccer Team to participate in many charitable activities, and established the Hong Kong Movie Star Sports Association Charities Limited which aims to develop elderly services, operating social enterprise, and providing career opportunities to hearing impaired persons.

Tam was awarded as The Annual Philanthropist in The 8th China Philanthropic Award.
