Abstract:
Jacky Cheung is renowned and popular singer, songwriter and actor in Hong Kong. He is also famous in Asia. He has been listed as the Top 50 influential persons in Asia by Times Magazine. Till 2000, Cheung has already sold more than 60 million records worldwide. Cheung won numerous singing and acting awards, including Best Singer in Hong Kong and Asia, Best Supporting Actor in Hong Kong Film Awards and Taiwan Golden Horse Awards, and Best Actor in International Film Festival.
In March 2009 he became the first Canton Pop artist to contribute items to the Hard Rock franchise memorabilia collection. Items are to be exhibited at the Hard Rock hotel in Macau. A joint donation is also made to donate HK$600,000 to the Children’s Cancer Foundation and ORBIS Macau. Cheung was also the ambassadors of End Child Sexual Abuse Foundation, Community Chest, HKCSS, Orbis, Children’s Cancer Foundation, Hong Kong Blood Cancer Foundation, RedCross, UNICEF, Po Leung Kuk, etc.
Cheung was one of the 10 outstanding young persons (Hong Kong) in 1998 and The Outstanding Young Persons of the World in 1999.
