Organisation: Central Rat Race
Details: The CENTRAL Rat Race has become one of Hong Kong’s signature charity events. Taking place in the heart of the central business district, it debuted in 2006 and has been held every year since. The race symbolises the various challenges one faces in the business world in a fun and exciting way.
In the race, teams of executives dressed in business attire or creative costumes and running shoes navigate eight different obstacles, passing a briefcase ‘baton’ between each other as they race their way to the finish line. Held in the heart of Hong Kong’s CBD, the race course uses CENTRAL’s Grade A office buildings and interconnecting pedestrian walkways to highlight the district’s value as a global business, finance and lifestyle hub. The inaugural event, held in 2006, was a huge success, raising over HK$2 million for MINDSET. Since then, approximately 3900 business executives and families have participated in the CENTRAL Rat Race to help raise over HK$21.72 million.
